Birmingham, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team continued conference play taking on the Colonels of Centre College for senior day. After taking on Sewanee on Friday, the Panthers put up a tough battle against the Colonels but fell short in OT.
Centre started the game off scoring the first goal in the first minute of the game.
Carter McAlpin answered back for the Panthers to tie the game 1-1. Both teams would go on to score three more goals apiece. Centre got the last goal of the first quarter making the score of 5-4. BSC came into the second quarter looking to take the lead by scoring the first two goals making the score 6-5. The Colonels took the lead scoring three goals in a row and leading the first half with a score of 8-7.
Going into the third quarter, Centre started it off scoring the first two goals of the quarter. BSC answered back with two goals of their own being down one with a score of 10-9 at the end of the third.
Reid Harrison and
Cameron Herd helped tie the game in the fourth quarter and send it into overtime. Centre scored the first goal in overtime to collect the win with a final score of 13-12.
Reid Harrison was the Panthers leading scorer putting up four goals.
Will Johns recorded a total of five groundballs.
Luke Fajack picked up 13 saves.
