Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

PANTHERS DROP HEART BREAKER IN OVERTIME

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team loss a nail biter in overtime against Bridgewater State. The Panthers scored two goals in the last three minutes to tie the game up and send it to overtime, but were unable to come away with the win.

From start to finish the game was back and forth with no team leading by more than two goals at any given point. BSC took an early 3-1 lead but Bridewater fought back and tied the game up 3-3. Just before the first quarter was about to end Margot Peters gave the Panthers the lead. Bridgewater and BSC continued to trade goals and found themselves tied at halftime, 6-6.

The second half was not much different with each team gaining a lead and then losing it. Both teams would lead by two goals at one point or another in the third quarter but it was the Bears that found themselves in the lead after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter the Panthers came back from down two goals twice to tie the game. BSC got two clutch goals down the stretch from Margot Peters and Kathleen Napier to tie the game and ultimately send it into overtime.

In overtime it was the Bears that found the back of the net and ended the game just 40 seconds into overtime. BSC fell in a heartbreaker 16-15.
