PANTHERS BOUNCE BACK TO BEAT VIKINGS

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern softball team put up 9 runs on 11 hits in their final game against Berry, to comeback after two tough losses against the Vikings. 

Izzy Berkopec got things rolling for the Panthers with a two RBI double down the right field line, that scored Alyssa Fowler and Morgan McGuire in the top of the first. Cassidy saw a quick four batters in the bottom of the first and managed to keep the Vikings scoreless. The top top of the second brought a productive inning for the Panthers with three runs on three hits. Cassidy Dickson was the first to drive in a run with a double to right field. Kaylyn Chapman went on to score on the throw. Dickson then scored when Morgan McGuire grounded out to the pitcher. The Panthers held a 4-0 lead when Alyssa Fowler scored to add another run to the lead. BSC finished the top of the second with a 5-0 lead over the Vikings. Dickson and the Panther defense once again saw a quick 4 batter inning in the bottom of the second and a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the third, holding their lead. 

The Panthers kept their momentum going in the top of the fifth with another RBI single from Izzy Berkopec brought the score up to 6-0. In the top of the sixth, the Panthers added three more runs on three hits to make it to run-rule scoring. Jada Askew hit a big double to right center that drove in Kailey Walters, Alyssa Fowler and Morgan McGuire. The Panthers fought off the Vikings in the bottom of the sixth to finish the game in a 9-0 run-rule.
