ATLANTA, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team placed third in the Southern Athletic Association Tournament, beating the likes of Sewanee and Rhodes who each ranked inside the top 40 in the nation. 

On day one of the event Birmingham-Southern shot an impressive 301 (+9) to sit in second place as a team. Individually all five BSC golfers placed inside the top 20 on day one. Sammy Brucker led the way shooting a 71 (-2) to sit atop the leader board after 18 holes. Price Bryan sat T10 after posting a two-over, 75. Jackson Bowman was T15 with a 77 (+4), and the other two Panthers were T18 after shooting a 78 (+5). 

BSC looked to keep that momentum up into day two of the tournament. Oglethorpe led the field by seven shots, but BSC was determined to make up ground. On day two BSC shot a 309 and fell back to third place. Price Bryan climbed up six spots on the leader board to sit T4 after posting another 75 (+2). Will Middleton climbed up three spots after posting another 78 (+5) and sat in T16. Sammy Brucker fell a bit in the standings after posting an 80 and after the completion of day two sat in T7. 

Headed to the last day BSC was still leading highly ranked teams such as No. 9 Sewanee and No. 35 Rhodes. They continued to play strong golf on day three posting a 301, matching their low score for the tournament. Sammy Brucker bounced back with a two-over, 75 round and finished T8. He was not the only Panther to finish in the top 10 as Price Bryan shot a 77 (+4) and finished solo 10th. All Birmingham-Southern golfers finished top 30 or better in the tournament. 

BSC finished third in conference matching their best finish ever in the SAA Tournament.
