BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After falling behind late in the game the Birmingham-Southern offense rallied with two outs to regain the lead and ultimately pick up their 12th straight victory to end the regular season.

After a scoreless first inning the Panthers got on the board first pushing three runs across in the inning to take an early 3-0 lead. They were powered by Shane Nelson's two-RBI double. They added a run in the fourth inning to push their lead to 4-0. 

Piedmont go their first runs in the sixth inning as they cut into the BSC lead. After retiring two of the first three batters in the inning, the next two batters for the Lions reached base including a two-RBI single to make the game 4-2.

Both teams were unable to score in the seventh but combined for seven runs in the eighth inning. In the top of the eighth the Lions pushed across four runs on three hits to take the lead. A two-run double down the left field line gave the Lions the lead. They added one more run before the Panthers recorded the final out of the inning. 

In the bottom of the eighth inning Piedmont retired the first Panther hitter, but then the rally started. Cole Steadman homered to left-center field to cut into the Pidemont lead. 6-5. After recording the second out of the inning, the next three BSC hitters reached base. One of the hits included the go-ahead two-run double by Jack Fleming. Preston Jenkins shut down the Lions in the ninth to secure the 7-6 victory.
