SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team fell in their second straight conference matchup to the Sewanee Tigers. The two teams played an even game, but it was the Tigers that were able to finish ahead.
Sewanee got on the scoreboard first, but Birmingham-Southern tied the game up shortly after. After the
Liz Lee goal to tie the game Sewanee responded with two goals of their own. With about a minute 30 left in the quarter
Kathleen Napier brought the Panthers withing a point. Just when the momentum looked to shift towards BSC the Tigers recorded two more goals to take a 5-3 lead.
The second and third quarters were played evenly on both sides with both teams scoring five goals over the two periods. Entering the fourth quarter Sewanee led 10-7. BSC recorded the first goal in the fourth quarter to pull within two goals with 12:50 remaining in the game. Again just as the momentum looked to turn toward the Panthers, Sewanee scored two goals to seal the victory. BSC fell on the road 12-8.
