Atlanta, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team continued their road streak taking on the Petrels of Oglethorpe University. After a 27-13 victory against Hendrix, the Panthers brought that momentum in today's matchup beating the Petrels 18-2.
BSC started the game off strong in the first quarter scoring a total of six goals and holding Oglethorpe to zero.
Carter McAlpin started the game off strong scoring the first goal within the first minute of the quarter. The Panthers would go on to score four more goals in the second quarter, leading the first half 10-1.
Southern came into the third quarter looking to increase the lead by scoring five more goals in the quarter.
Bowen Harris and
Austin Johnson finished the game scoring the last three goals of the game in the fourth quarter with a final score of 18-2.
Cameron Herd and
Austin Johnson led the team in goals scoring four a piece. Herd contributed five points, three groundballs, and one assist. Johnson picked up five points, two groundballs, and one assist.
Will Johns and
Cade Marino were dominate on the field both picking up six groundballs. Johns will go on to add two goals for the Panthers.
