PANTHERS DEFEAT VIKINGS

Mount Berry, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team returned to play taking on the Vikings of Berry College. The Panthers came into today's game looking to go 2-0 for the weekend. After taking down Oglethorpe 18-2 on Thursday, April 7th, BSC defeated Berry 15-6. 
 
The first quarter was all BSC scoring five goals in the quarter and holding Berry to zero. Carter McAlpin, Will Johns, Reid Harrison, and Bowen Harris were the scorers for the Panthers. Johns started the second quarter off scoring in the first 10 seconds. Berry tried to make a comeback scoring four goals back-to-back, but Herd and Bowen answered back scoring two more goals before halftime. Southern led the game 8-4 at halftime.
 
Carter McAlpin started the third quarter off increasing the Panthers lead with the assist from Austin Johnson. Berry would go on to score two more goals, but Austin Johnson found Cameron Herd to score the last goal of the third quarter, giving the Panthers a 10-6 lead after the third. Fourth quarter was all BSC leaving Berry scoreless and scoring five more goals. The Panthers won the game 15-6. 
 
Carter McAlpin was the Panthers leading scorer putting up four goals. McAlpin added on six points, three groundballs, and two assist. Will Johns battled on the faceoff picking up 10 groundballs for the Panthers.  Cameron Herd led the offense with four assists.
