PANTHERS OPEN 2022 CAMPAIGN WITH DRAW

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -
The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team traveled south to open up their 2022 campaign at Huntingdon. After 90 minutes the Panthers and Hawks would finish the game tied 1-1.

No goals would find the back of the net in the first half for the Panthers as both goalkeepers kept a clean sheet through 45 minutes of play. Huntingdon had the edge in shots, outshooting BSC 8-1. On the other side BSC had the edge in corner kicks, 3-2. 

Out of the half both teams continued to play evenly. As the game went on both teams started to create more chances and in the 74th minute the first goal of the game was scored. Bailey Dupré got the Panthers on the board to give them a late lead. 

After the goal the Hawks turned up their offense and recorded three shots over the next 12 minutes of play, with one of them finding the back of the net for a goal. The Hawks scored in the 86th minute of the game.

The game would remain tied for the last four minutes of play and both teams walked away with a tie in their season opener.
