DEMOREST, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team drops the match to Piedmont after being unable to keep up with their early period shot production.
 
The first half saw the Lions jump out to an early lead after a flurry of shots resulted in a goal off of a rebounded save. The pressure continued throughout the half as the Panthers worked to keep moving the ball on attack.
 
The second half appeared to be more of the same with the Lions scoring in the first minute on a breakaway run. The Panthers found some solid looks at the goal, but simply could not connect. 
 
After seizing the momentum from the Panthers, the Lions would score one last time to bring their lead further out of reach. Despite their strong efforts, the Panthers fall short in the end.
 
Freshman goalkeeper, Grace Elsevier, showed promise tallying three saves throughout the match. Meanwhile, Abby Walker and Ali Schroeder worked to keep the Panthers' hopes alive as the team leaders in shots.
