BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Birmingham-Southern swept Rhodes in three sets with an astounding .487 hitting percentage as a team. Four Panthers hit above .400 in this match,

Birmingham-Southern took the first two points of the set with kills from
Kennedy Dickens and
Gigi Fields. The Panthers pushed to an 8-4 lead with a kill from
Alyssa Coats and continued to extend it 14-7. An error from the Lynx made it 18-1, kills from
Alyssa Coats and
Kennedy Dickens got the Panthers into plus twenty play at 21-12. Pushing until the end, Birmingham-Southern took the next four out of five points to end it 25-13.
The Panthers took the lead in set two at 7-4 after going on a four point run to bring them out of a deficit to the Lynx. A kill from
Ainsley Schultz and back to back errors from the Lynx allowed the Panthers to make it 14-7.
Gigi Fields and
Kennedy Dickens kept the momentum going with a pair of kills and a block. Rhodes took two more points, but Birmingham-Southern went on a five point run to put them two points away from taking set two.
Rominey Willner gave the Panthers set point and the Lynx held them there for two points but
Leah Nielsen ended it with a kill, 25-16.
Looking to end another conference match in three sets, the Panthers did not give up their momentum and took the early lead. A kill from
Rominey Willner and an ace from
Kate Powell brought it to 12-6. Errors from the Lynx was a major part of their downfall as multiple contributed to the 18-9 lead the Panthers held. Rhodes took one more point to get to 10, but seven straight points from Birmingham-Southern ended the match with a 25-10 score for set three.
