Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

PANTHERS OPEN CONFERENCE PLAY WITH A LOSS

CONWAY, Ark. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team falls to Hendrix in their first SAA match of the season.

This match looked to be a close one with both teams working the ball up and down the field well with neither team gaining a clear edge. However, a mass substitution midway through the half by the Warriors gave them a spark leading to one of the newcomers scoring within seconds.

Now working with a deficit, the Panthers looked to strike amassing several shots attempts before halftime, but failing to connect. On the other side, the Warriors worked to extend their lead matching the Panthers shot for shot.

The second half saw different tactics with similar results. While the Panthers maintained their steady pace, the Warriors opted for a more assertive approach tallying 13 shots in the half, but only resulting in one late goal to seal the victory.

Throughout the onslaught, the Panthers held their own with goalkeeper Mary Claire Henry pulling in 3 saves and the team accounting for another. Offensively, Abby Rose Branham, Halle Morton, and Abby Walker lead the team in shots.
