BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team handled LaGrange easily with an impressive display of offense.
BSC put LaGrange on the ropes from the first kick, keeping the ball moving on the attacking half and getting solid looks at the net.
Abby Walker was able to get scoring going after a perfectly placed assist from
Abby Rose Branham. This goal gave them the lead as well as the momentum of the game.
As they continued to stretch out the opposing defense, BSC patiently waited to strike again. They finally found their moment on a free kick.
Ali Schroeder kicked off to a wide-open
Madeleine Ash who launched a long range shot right into the net to grow the BSC lead.
The second half looked to be more of the same with BSC extending their lead even further with another
Abby Rose Branham assisted goal from
Abby Walker early on. After this goal, BSC would settle into a slightly more defensive mindset aiming to protect their well-deserved lead.
As LaGrange scrambled to catch up, BSC held firm. A combination of defensive pressure and saves from
Grace Elsevier helped BSC to close out the match without a goal scored against them.
