BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team dropped a a low scoring affair to The University of the South 66-61. The Panthers shot a season-low 34.9 percent from the floor in the loss.
The Panthers struck first gaining an early edge but that was erased by Sewanee quickly. A back and forth game saw seven lead changes but no ties over the 40 minutes of play. Sewanee took a five point lead to halftime, before ultimately winning the contest. BSC fought back quickly in the second half erasing the deficit and taking a 35-34 lead with 17 minutes remaining. Sewanee would eventually regain the lead later in the period and go up by as much as 10. The deficit was too much to overcome for the Panthers who fell 66-61.
Josh Childers led all scorers with 21 points in the contest. The senior added four boards, and two assists to his stat line as well. Childers was the lone Panthers to score in double figures in the game.

Jay Gillispie, and
Christian Thompson each scored eight points in the Panthers loss.
Russ Marr led the way for the Tigers scoring 15, while also adding two rebounds and an assist. Also scoring in double figures was Luka Avaliani and Tre Corrigan who scored 14 and 10 respectively. Avaliani pulled down 9 boards and dished out four assists. Corrigan finished with five rebounds, and four assists in the win.
