BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's swim and dive team sent their seniors off with a split in their dual meet against SCAD and Berry. In the process two divers broke program records.
The Panthers started off slow in their final meet of the regular season. After placing as high as third, and some events not showing in the top three BSC turned it up at the end.
In the men's 100 yard backstroke Chris Rubin and Joe Swing placed second and third giving the Panthers a boost they needed. Rubin recorded a time of 53.55 while Swing timed in at 55.64.
During the final three events BSC placed inside the top five a total of nine times. In the 500-yard freestyle the Panthers placed third, fourth and fifth. In the following event Aden Kraft led the Panthers with a second place finish and earned a time of 1:01.47.
To conclude the meet all three BSC 200-yard freestyle relay teams earned a top five finish with the "A" squad placing second.
Two records were broke in the diving events for the men. In the 1-meter, six dive event, Justin Toth scored a 330.44 breaking the BSC program record. Avery Balch followed that up with a record-breaking 3-meter, six dive score of 354.98.

The Panthers will have a week off before they start the conference championships on Feb. 8 and will run through Feb. 11. BSC will make a run at their ninth consecutive conference championship.
