PANTHERS EXCELL IN MEET, LOVING PLACES TOP 10 IN THREE EVENTS

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO - The Birmingham-Southern women's track and field team excelled in the Steemer Showcase hosted by Wittenberg University. 

BSC had eight athletes place in the top 10 of their respective events, with Jailah Loving earning  four of the eight spots. Loving also earned a personal record in the 60-meter hurdles. 

Birmingham-Southern Top Finishes

  • Jailah Loving earned a top 10 finish in four event for the Panthers. The sophomore recorded a third place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.87. She followed that up with a personal record time of 9.30 in the 60-meter hurdles where she finished second. She then took victory as she was apart of the 4x200-meter relay team. Lastly she earned a seventh place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.58.
  • The aforementioned 4x200-meter relay team took victory in the event. The team of jailed Loving, Kya Gardner, Sydney Smith, and Trinity Jones took first place.
  • Amelia Dowling earned the final top 10 finish as she finished in 10th place in the long jump. 

Up next
The Panthers will travel to Virginia Beach, Va. on Sunday, Feb. 5 as they compete in the Richard Drake Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan.
