BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's diving student-athletes competed in their first meet back from winter break. The Panthers competed against Delta State and during the meet
Avery Balch broke the school record for the 3-meter six dive event.
BSC opened up the divers only event strong placing three athletes in the top five of the 3-meter event.
Avery Balch placed second with a score of 329.18, breaking the school record.
Justin Toth finished behind Balch with a score of 295.28, and coming in fourth place in the event was
Garrett George with a score of 267.90.
The divers then moved to the 1-meter event, this time they claimed four of the top five spots in the event.
Justin Toth led the charge this time for BSC, finishing second with a score of 290.70. Behind him was
Garrett George who scored a 279.08. Finishing in fourth place was
Avery Balch who scored 261.67 and rounding out the top four Panthers was Samuel Tennell finishing in fifth place.

The Panthers swimming and diving team will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 7 as they travel to Pensacola, Fla. to compete against West Florida and Montevallo.
