BIRMINGHAM, AL. - The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team competed in two SAA matchups on the weekend.
Game 1 vs. Hendrix
Set one was dominated by Hendrix as they would post 13 kills and only one error. The Warriors jumped out to a 10-2 start and BSC could not recover.
Set two had a similar start with Hendrix getting out to a 9-3 start. Ana Bastos and Perri Evans added four and three kills each to secure the second set win.
Hendrix takes a two set lead into a very competitive 3rd set. BSC did not allow Hendrix to get out to a fast start as there were eight ties in the set.
BSC players
Gracie Sims (15), and
Kylie Wilhelmi (10) both had double digit kills. Setter
Ainsley Schultz ended with 35 assist.
The winning point would come on a service ace by Loren Payne as Hendrix wins the match 3-0.

Game 2 vs. Rhodes
BSC traveled to Rhodes after a hard fought 0-3 loss to Hendrix. The Panthers had lost six straight matches until Sunday.
BSC would take the first set with five kills from
Kylie Wilhelmi and four from
Madison Williams.
The second set would go to Rhodes after seven lead changes.
The final two sets would be won by the Panthers in dominating fashion. The Panthers had a combined 22 kills and only five errors during the final two sets.
Setter
Ainsley Schultz finished with 38 assists.
Kylie Wilhelmi and
Claire Hayes both finished the match with a hitting % over .400. BSC players
Gracie Sims (10), and
Kylie Wilhelmi (12) both had double digit kills.
The winning point would come on a kill by
Kylie Wilhelmi as BSC wins the match 3-1.
