BIRMINGHAM, AL. - The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team competed in two SAA matchups on the weekend.
Game 1 vs. Centre
BSC came into the match on a three game losing streak, while Centre came in on a three game winning streak.
Centre ran out to a 7-3 lead with five kills to start the match. After a few runs from BSC, Centre would win the set 25-19.
Set two proved to be a very competitive one with the set going passed 25 points.
Kylie Wilhelmi and
Gracie Sims combined for seven kills in the set. There were six lead changes and 12 ties, as Centre went on to win set two.
Set three was also very tight as
Taylor Bentley started off with two kills in the first three points.
Gracie Sims finished the match with nine kills and a .250 hitting percentage.
Centre wins the match 3-0.

Game 2 vs. Sewanee
Following a tough match against Centre the Panthers had to play a good Sewanee team.
Sewanee really came on strong with a, mid set, seven point run to make the score 19-8. Sewanee finished the set with 15 kills and only two errors.
For Sewanee, Jacqueline Weller finished with 20 kills including seven kills and three aces in the second set. The tigers would go on to win the set 25-13.
The third set would go to the Panthers who had 15 kills and only five errors. The Panthers had to comeback from a 10-4 early lead for the Tigers.
The final set started off with a 6-0 run for the Sewanee Tigers and then a 11-1 lead.
Ainsley Schultz had 32 assist and four service aces.
Kylie Wilhelmi finished the match with 15 kills on four errors and a .324 hitting percentage.
Sewanee wins the match 3-1.
