LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team picked up a big road win at Covenant on Saturday to snap a three-game skid.
On Saturday, the men's basketball team traveled to Lookout Mountain, Georgia to face a Covenant team that shoots almost 32% from 3-point range. The game started off with a handful of lead changes with Covenant taking a six point lead, before a surge by the Panthers. An 11-0 run put Birmingham-Southern up five points. Transfer student Brandon Copeland came off the bench and provided four points during that 11-0 run. Despite only two 3-point shots made in the first half, BSC took a 40-39 lead into halftime. BSC was led by
Brody Davis with 14 points and a 50% field goal percentage in the first half.
Birmingham-Southern would not give the lead up in the second half despite a really tight score. The lead would only grow to nine points with the Scots getting as close as one point multiple times. BSC continued to dominate the paint with 46 points in the paint on 48% shooting.
Kaleb Green added 15 points, five assist, and three rebounds.
Brandan Copeland added 10 points, off the bench, in just 18 minutes. Jay Gillispe put in a performance with a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Birmingham-Southern gets back to .500 on the season at 4-4.
