BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team earned a top four finish in the SAA regular season and the chance to host the SAA quarterfinal round with a 73-59 win over Hendrix College on Sunday, Feb. 12.
The Panthers started slow as they trailed 9-2 early but quickly kicked it into gear taking a two point lead after a
Jay Gillispie three pointer. The teams would battle back and forth until just under the seven minute mark. BSC went on a 15-6 run to end the half and take the lead into halftime. The Panthers would build their lead by as much as 19 over the course of the second half before walking away with a 14-point victory.
Jay Gillispie led all scorers with his 20-point, 14-rebound performance.
Martise Jackson recorded 14 points, three boards, and three steals in the win over the Warriors.
Cam Glover returned to the court for the first time since Dec. 11 and scored 13 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out three assists.
Tyler Deithloff led the Warriors with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor. Colten Berry was the only other Warrior to score in double-figures in the loss with 11 points.

With the win the Panthers will host an SAA quarterfinal game on Sunday, Feb. 19. The time for the game is currently TBA.
