BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team opened up their second game of the season on a sluggish start but quickly kicked it into gear as they would walk away with a 21-8 victory.
How it happened
- A slow start for both teams resulted in Huntingdon leading 2-1 halfway through the first quarter.
- Three unanswered goals by the Panthers put them ahead 4-2. Robert Marquet, Cameron Herd, and Patton Hunter all scored in the final eight minutes of the first quarter. Huntingdon would get a goal back before the quarter ended to cut into the lead 4-3.
- The second quarter was all BSC outscoring the Hawks 5-0. The five goals were scored by four different goal scorers with Cameron Herd capping off his hat trick. Birmingham-Southern took a 9-3 lead into halftime.
- BSC came out of halftime and carried their momentum into the third quarter. The Panthers went on a 6-1 run over the first 10 minutes of the quarter to extend their lead to 15-4.
- Huntingdon scored two goals with just under five minutes to go in the quarter, but BSC would counter with two of their own, including one being an own goal by Huntingdon.
- BSC outscored Huntingdon 4-2 in the final quarter to win their second game of the season 21-8.

- Four Panthers recorded a hat trick in the win on Tuesday night.
- Robert Marquet's four assists are a single-game career-high for him.
- BSC improved their overall record to 11-1 against the Hawks, including winning the last nine.
- The 20 caused turnovers by the Panthers ties for third in program history for a single-game.
- Cameron Herd moved into the top five all time for assists after recording his second three assist game on the season.
- Will Johns has improved his career face-off percentage from .574 to start the season to .578 over the two games.
