ATLANTA - The Birmingham-Southern swim and dive team sent six swimmers to the Emory First Chance meet in hopes of swimming a qualifying time. Although the group showed well none would qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Day One
Charlie Fountain recorded a time of 1:55.61 in the 200-yard IM and finished sixth in the event, the highest of any Panther.
AJ Schwabe finished seventh with a time of 1:56.59 in the same event, and rounding out the Panthers was
Adam Jones who finished eighth with a time of 1:59.06.
BSC had two student-athletes compete in the 50-yard freestyle event.
Connor McClain recorded a time of 21.09 finishing sixth but breaking the programs record again this season.
Jakob Icimsoy finished seventh with a time of 21.49.
Day Two
On the final day all six swimmers swam in the 200-yard freestyle.
AJ Schwabe finished the highest in fifth with a time of 1:41.64.
Charlie Fountain finished just behind him in sixth with a time of 1:41.76.
Jakob Icimsoy recorded an eighth place finish with a time of 1:42.39.
Noah Prevost swam his only event to an 11th place finish. Behind him would be
Adam Jones and
Connor McClain rounding out the Panthers.
