BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team dropped their first game of the season to Elmhurst University 17-13 in Bloomington on Sunday.
How it happened
- Elmhurst was the first on the board and jumped out to a 4-1 lead halfway through the first period.
- BSC returned it with two more goals of their own, the last being with 6 seconds left in the period, to make it a one goal game at 4-3.
- The second period was back and forth with Elmhurst scoring 5 goals and BSC scattering in three of their own. The Panthers would put up their last goal of the half with just over three minutes left to make it 9-6 in favor of Elmhurst.
- Birmingham-Southern outscored Elmhurst in the third period, closing their lead to only two goals.
- The final period would see 10 goals with Elmhurst outscoring BSC to take it 17-13.
