PANTHERS GET BIG MIDWEEK WIN OVER SCOTS

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern baseball team extended their win streak to eight games after a dominate 11-3 win over Covenant on Tuesday, Feb. 28. 

The Panthers improved to 10-1 overall with the win, while Covenant dropped to 2-1.

Carter Tyus got the start of the Panthers and pitched three innings, allowing three runs while striking out one. As the Panthers went to their bullpen the BSC pitching staff struck out 10 over the final six innings of play. Luke Jones struck out five over his 2.1 innings of work.

Eli Steadman and Ian Hancock led the Panthers each recording two hits in the contests. The duo combined to drive in four runs while also scoring three times. Andrew Dutton also had a solid day at the plate going 1-for-2 with three walks and four runs scored in the midweek win. 

A back and forth game saw the Panthers break the game open in the middle innings as the Panthers outscored the Scots 5-0 in the middle frames. BSC then proceeded to outscore Covenant 3-0 over the final three frames to win 11-3.
