BSC INCREASES LEAD ON DAY TWO

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's swimming and diving team increased their lead on day two of the SAA Swim and Dive Championships in the midst of their ninth consecutive conference title.

Justin Toth, Avery Balch, and Garrett George started the day off strong for the Panthers after the trio claimed three of the top four spots in the men's 1-meter diving event. Justin Toth earned first place with Black and George garnering third and fourth respectively.

AJ Schwabe and Charlie Fountain swam into the top three of the 500 freestyle event helping BSC place three swimmers on the podium with Joe Swing finishing eighth.

The men cooled off a bit in the 200 IM, but still placing two student-athletes on the podium. Graham Simmon secured fifth place with a time of 1:55.04 and Aden Kraft finished just behind him in sixth with a time of 1:55.40.

BSC again stood in the middle of the pack in the 50 freestyle with Jakob Icimsoy and Connor McClain earning fourth and fifth. The Panthers rounded out the night in fourth during the 200 freestyle relay finishing with a time of 1:23.63.

After two days of SAA Championship competition Birmingham-Southern still leads with 364 points.
