BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern baseball team scored 12 unanswered runs to mount an eight run comeback and win their 14th consecutive game. BSC was led by centerfielder
Cam McNearney who recorded three hits in the contest including a home run, his fourth over the last four games.
After falling behind 8-0 in the top of the third inning, the Birmingham-Southern pitching staff did not allow a run for the remainder of the game while the offense scored 12 unanswered runs to win the game 12-8. Five extra-base hits helped the Panthers to victory.
Birmingham-Southern improved to 16-1 while Emory dropped to 9-4 on the season.
BSC used four pitchers in the win with all eight runs being unearned in the game.
Davis Williams started pitching three innings and striking out one.
Braden Williams and
Ian Burnstine threw the middle innings combing for three innings, allowing one hit, and striking out three.
Hansen McCown earned the win improving to 2-0 on the season after his three inning five strikeout performance.
Andrew Dutton and
Cam McNearney led the Panther offense with three hits. The duo combined to go 6-for-10 (.600) with Dutton hitting a double and McNearney hitting a home run. Dutton and McNearney also combined for 5 RBI and three runs scored in the comeback victory.
Ian Hancock,
Noah Best, and
Jackson Webster each recorded a multi-hit game as well.
