GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team fell to Wittenberg University 14-11 in Georgetown on Friday. After leading by three goals going into the fourth quarter, BSC couldn't hold off the late surge from the Tigers as seven unanswered goals put the game out of reach.

How it happened

  • Wittenberg was first on the board, but BSC replied with two late first-quarter goals to take a 2-1 lead.
  • The Panthers continued their impressive offensive display outscoring the Tigers 5-3 in the second quarter to give them a 7-4 lead at the half.
  • The third quarter was a tight contest with Wittenberg opening the scoring before BSC replied with two of their own.
  • Wittenberg then scored two more before BSC's Cameron Herd answered with a goal with twenty-five seconds to go to make the score 10-7 heading into the final period.
  • The Tigers then dominated the fourth scoring seven unanswered goals to take the lead 14-10.
  • BSC's Robert Marquet ended the run from Wittenberg with a goal, but it was too late as BSC fell 14-11 in the non-conference matchup.
