PANTHERS GET BACK IN THE WIN COLUMN

PENSACOLA, Fla. - After suffering their first lost since mid-January the Birmingham-Southern baseball team go back in the win column with a 6-1 victory over No. 8 ranked UW-Whitewater. The Panthers come off playing their fourth game in three days. 

The Panthers improved to 21-2 overall on the season while handing the Warhawks their first lost of the season and falling to 5-1.

Hansen McCown improved to 3-0 on the season after picking up the win in relief. The senior allowed no hits over 4.2 innings of work while striking out four. McCown relieved Carter Tyus who started the game and went 4.1 innings striking out five and giving up one unearned run to help the Panthers collect their 21st victory of the season. 

The 21 wins for the Panthers are the most in Division III so far this year. The next closest team has 18 while playing one more game than BSC. 

Four Panthers recorded multi-hit games and leading the way was catcher, Jack Fleming who went 3-for-5 in the game with two RBI and a run scored. Noah Best, Luke DePiero, and Will Lantis all recorded two hits in the game with DePiero recording a double and Best legging out a triple. Jackson Webster also extended his hitting streak to 13 games in the win.
