PANTHERS COMPLETE 4TH QUARTER COMEBACK VS CENTRE

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team returned to the win column after a huge fourth quarter comeback against SAA opponent Centre College on Sunday.

How it happened

  • BSC's Kyle Winter scored the opening goal inside of a minute to get things started for the Panthers.
  • Centre replied with two straight goals to take the lead, but BSC battled back to take a 5-4 lead at the end of the first period.
  • The Colonels then had a very dominant second quarter with five unanswered goals scored until Cameron Herd ended the run with :19 left in the half.
  • Centre's big second period gave them a 9-6 lead at halftime.
  • BSC regrouped and came out firing to open the third quarter with three straight goals. However, Centre replied with two of their own to take an 11-9 lead.
  • Despite a goal from Raymond Fracchia to open the final period, the Colonels stretched their lead to four with 11:25 remaining in the game.
  • With lots of work to do, the Panthers took over the game with six unanswered goals to take a two-goal lead late in the fourth quarter.
  • The Panthers huge run was ultimately enough to complete the comeback and win the conference matchup 16-14.
