BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team won their second consecutive SAA contest in dominant fashion over Oglethorpe University on Friday.
How it happened
- BSC started off hot with a goal from Kyle Winter inside of the opening three minutes of the game.
- The Panthers scored two more to quickly jump out to a 3-0 lead before Oglethorpe scored their first.
- BSC went on to finish the first quarter strong by scoring four straight goals to take a 7-1 lead.
- The Panthers continued to control the game in the second period and outscored the Stormy Petrels 5-2 to take a 12-3 lead into halftime.
- Going into the second half with a big lead, BSC did not slow down. Micah Finotti scored less than a minute into the half, and the Panthers never looked back.
- BSC had eight different goalscorers in the third period and stretched their lead to seventeen heading into the fourth.
- After two quick goals from Oglethorpe, the Panthers regained control and won the final quarter 6-4.
- BSC went on to win all four quarters and ultimately win the game by a score of 27-8.
