BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team won their third consecutive SAA contest by defeating Berry College after a strong second half performance.
How it happened
- BSC started fast with a goal in the opening :45 from Kyle Winter.
- However, the lead did not last long as Berry answered with a goal a little over a minute later.
- Berry then went on to dominate the rest of the quarter and take a 4-1 lead into the short break.
- The second period was extremely tight with the only goal coming from BSC's Robert Marquet to cut the deficit to two heading into halftime.
- After some halftime adjustments, the Panthers once again started the half with a goal inside of a minute this time by Cameron Herd.
- After another quick answer from Berry, the Panthers and Vikings traded two goals a piece to make the score 7-5 late in the third quarter.
- BSC then took over the game with three unanswered goals in less than four minutes to take an 8-7 lead going into the final period.
- In a very intense fourth quarter, Berry tied the game at eight halfway through the final period, but the Panthers scored two goals inside the final four minutes to take the lead.
- BSC ultimately went on to win the SAA matchup 10-8 for their third win in a row.
