MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team suffered defeat in their final regular season game of 2023 to snap their four-game SAA winning streak.
How it happened
- Rhodes opened the scoring inside the first five minutes, and the score remained 1-0 through the end of the first quarter.
- The Lynx added their second goal less than a minute into the second quarter to double their lead.
- BSC could not break the deadlock in the first half and went into the half trailing 2-0.
- To start the second half, Rhodes once again scored inside of a minute this time to stretch the lead to three.
- BSC's Kyle Winter quickly replied to get the Panthers on the board, and Cameron Herd added a second shortly after.
- Austin Johnson then scored to tie the game 3-3 halfway through the third period.
- The Lynx then scored two goals to regain the lead, but BSC's Will Johns scored to cut the deficit to one heading into the final quarter.
- Rhodes went on to dominate the fourth period 5-0 and ultimately win the contest 10-4.
