BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team was defeated in their final regular season game of the season on Monday night by the Rhodes Lynx.
How it happened
- Rhodes got off to a fast start with goal inside the opening minute and added another a little over a minute later.
- BSC's Margot Peters then cut into the deficit and opened the scoring for the Panthers.
- The Lynx then went on a 9-0 run to end the first period to take a commanding 11-1 lead.
- The second quarter was tighter, but Rhodes won the period 4-1 to go into the half with a 14-2 lead.
- Rhodes scored three unanswered goals to start the second half, but BSC's Marissa Henderson scored the first of her three goals on the night to stop the run.
- The Lynx added another goal at the end of the third period to take an 18-3 into the final quarter.
- Marissa Henderson scored back-to-back goals to start the fourth quarter, but Rhodes scored three more to end the game and earn the victory on the night 21-5.
