ATLANTA, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team fell to conference opposition Oglethorpe in a tough matchup on the road in Atlanta.
How it happened
- Oglethorpe got off to a quick start with two goals inside the opening five minutes to take a 2-0 lead.
- BSC's Sydney Riley had the answer for the Panthers with a goal just a few minutes later to cut the deficit to 1.
- The Stormy Petrels then took over with four unanswered goals to take a 6-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- The second period was more of the same with Oglethorpe outscoring BSC 8-3 to take a 14-4 lead into halftime.
- The Panthers came out of halftime with a strong third quarter led by two goals from Margot Peters to tie the quarter 2-2.
- In the final quarter, the Stormy Petrels controlled play and won the quarter 4-2 to give them a 20-8 victory on the afternoon.
