PANTHERS FALL TO CENTRE COLLEGE IN DANVILLE

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team lost in a tough conference game against Centre College on Saturday.

How it happened
  • BSC scored the first goal of the game with a goal inside the opening two minutes from Sydney Riley.
  • Centre answered less than a minute later, but Sydney Riley added her second of three total goals on the day to retake the lead.
  • The Colonels then went on a 3-0 run to end the first quarter with a 4-2 lead. 
  • The second quarter was extremely close with both teams scoring four goals each. Margot Peters led the way for the Panthers with three of her five total goals on the day.
  • After the break, Centre came out hot with three straight goals before BSC's Elizabeth Mitchell ended the run. 
  • However, the Colonels continued their third quarter dominance by winning the period 7-4. This gave them a 15-10 lead heading into the final quarter. 
  • After an early goal from Centre, BSC cut the lead to four with 10:20 to go. The Colonels then scored four unanswered goals to finish the game and take a 20-12 victory.
