Blue Mountain, MS. – The Panther women's soccer team got their first win of the season on Saturday against Blue Mountain College.
It only took eight minutes for the BMC to get on the scoreboard with a goal by Madison Zamudio.
Birmingham-Southern answered with a goal in the 30th minute by
Ali Schroeder on a long free kick. The half finished at 1-1 after a couple of late chances by both teams.
The winning goal would prove to be earned in the 52nd minute by
Montse Jasso assisted by
Ali Schroeder.
Grace Elsevier ended the game with four saves to help keep BMC out of the net in the second half.
Corey Smith earned his first college win as a head coach, in only his second game.
