DEMOREST, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern softball team went 1-1 at Piedmont on Saturday after defeating Mount St. Joseph 4-2 in the morning game but falling 11-3 in six innings against Cal Lutheran in the afternoon.
Game 1 vs. Mount St. Joseph
The Panthers got on the board first after Isabella Furgason singled to right field scoring Emma Jolley. Pitcher Natalie Snow then doubled to left field sending Furagson home to give BSC a 2-0 lead. Both teams failed to score through the next three innings after more outstanding pitching from Natalie Snow. The sophomore recorded four strikeouts through the first five innings to keep the Lions scoreless.
In the bottom of the fifth, Emma Jolley's infield single scored Katie Hart to extend the margin to three. Mount St. Joseph finally got on the board in the top of the sixth on an RBI single, but Jaley Davis recorded an RBI single in the bottom of the inning to put them back up three. The Lions scored in the top of the seventh, but it was not enough as the Panthers went on to win their second straight game. Natalie Snow once again pitched a complete game in her second consecutive win.

Game 2 vs. Cal Lutheran
Natalie Snow carried over her excellent form in game two of the day with a single in the top of the first inning scoring Emma Jolley and Katie Hart. Cal Lutheran then got the bats going early with five runs in the first and four in the second to take control, 9-2. After the Kingsmen scored another run in the third, Morgan McGuire singled on a hard ground ball to record the Panthers' third run. Cal Lutheran then went on to add another run in the bottom of the sixth to take the win on the afternoon, 11-3.
