JUSTIN TOTH DEFENDS 1 METER DIVE TITLE ON DAY ONE OF SAA MEET

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's swimming & diving teams completed the opening day of the 2024 SAA Swimming and Diving Championship on Wednesday. The men's team currently leads the pack after three events, and the women's team sits in third after two.

Justin Toth led the way for the Panthers by taking home the men's 1 meter diving title to defend his championship from 2023. BSC finished fourth in both the 200 yard medley relay and 800 yard freestyle relay. The 200 team included Logan Reinhold, Patty Esposito, Noah Rock, and Zachary Cameron who finished with a time of 1:34.66. Adam Jones, Logan Reinhold, Graham Simmon, and Sam Hardy made up the 800 team and finished with a time of 7:01.83.

BSC's women's team was led by the 800 yard freestyle relay team who finished third. Alex Sprague, Amelia Cooper, Clare Sprinkle, and Ella Falco finished with a time of 7:52.48. The 200 yard medley relay team of Nicole Lee, Alexa Coughlan, Amelia Cooper, and Regan Skedgell also placed well with a 1:50.99 time to finish fourth.

The Panthers will be back in the pool tomorrow morning, Feb. 8 at 10:00 a.m. for day two of the SAA Swimming and Diving Championship.
