SAN ANTONIO, Tx. –
Avery Balch of the Birmingham-Southern men's diving team won the 1m dive event on Saturday at the NCAA DIII Regional Diving Meet after winning the 3m event Friday. He led the group of four Panther divers who all finished inside the top seven in the event.
Balch stole the show for the second consecutive day in San Antonio with his impressive 480.95 score in the 1m dive. He automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship in Greensboro after his 3m win on Friday and now adds to his list of accomplishments today. The 2023 All-American will look to reclaim the title and compete for a national championship in a little over two weeks.

Justin Toth took home second place behind fellow teammate
Avery Balch. His score of 476.55 in the 1m dive qualifies him for the NCAA Championships where he also will look to repeat as an All-American and compete for a national title.
Sam Tennell finished seven spots higher in the 1m dive with a score of 429.10. His sixth place finish gives him a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Garrett George completed the excellent scores for the Panthers with a 423.60, earning seventh place. George also has an opportunity to qualify for the national championship meet.
