SOFTBALL SWEEPS MILLSAPS ON THE ROAD, EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO NINE

Game 1: It was a rubber match until the fifth inning, neither team was able to capitalize for a run until the Panther's struck first. In the top of the fifth, Millsaps committed two errors, giving RBI opportunity to Emma Jolley. Jolley's ground ball to the right side allowed the first Panther run to score. A Millsaps wild pitch allowed a second run to score.

Leah Wood, Olivia Trout, and Katie Hart all walked in the top of the sixth to put three base runners on for BSC. Emma Jolley picked up her second RBI of the day with a single to the pitcher, scoring Wood and giving BSC a 3-0 lead.
Another Millsaps error in the top of the 7th put the lead off batter, Bella Furgason, on base. Maile White singled to put two runners aboard and Furgason in scoring position. Olivia Trout reached base safely again with an RBI single. BSC led by 4-0 going into the Major's final chance to score.

Game 1 starter in the circle Natalie Snow shut down the Majors for a complete game victory. The sophomore allowed six hits scattered through seven innings, she allowed just one walk and no runs.

Game 2: BSC was able to clench the series with a comfortable game 2 victory. Still hot from the first game of the double header, BSC put up 5 runs in the first two innings. Back to back errors from the Majors put the first batters of the game on base. Morgan McGuire capitalized on the faulty defense and delivered an opposite field RBI single to take a 1-0 lead. Natalie Snow followed with an RBI ground ball to make it 2-0 quickly.

In the top of the second, Maile White led things off with a single up the middle, followed by an Olivia Trout walk. Mollie Furr also singled to load up the bases with Panthers. Emma Jolley stayed red hot on the day, picking up her fourth RBI in the double header from a 2 RBI single. Morgan McGuire was productive again at the plate with an RBI ground ball to make it a quick 5-0 ballgame.

Neither team strung together another run until the fifth inning when BSC added their 6th insurance run. Emma Jolley led things off with a single up the middle, stole second, and advanced on a SAC bunt by Morgan McGuire. Bella Furgason joined the fun with an RBI knock to left field.

In the bottom of the fifth, Millsaps found their first run of the day from two singles and a SAC bunt, making the score 6-1.
