JACKSON, Miss. - The Birmingham-Southern softball team began their stretch of six games vs. top ten opponents on Tuesday. The Panthers kept it close but fell to #8 Belhaven on the road.

In the bottom of the first inning, BSC starting pitcher Natalie Snow held the Blazers hitless, but Belhaven scored the game's first run after an error. However, she managed to get out of the inning allowing just one run.

Both Belhaven's Kennedy Carruth and BSC's Natalie Snow were dealing on the mound with neither team scoring another run through 3.5 innings. BSC's Katie Hart managed to start her day two for two from the plate but was not able to be brought home.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Blazers hit a triple to put a runner in scoring position with only one out. A sac fly then doubled Belhaven's lead with only nine outs to spare for the Panthers.

Neither team managed to score the rest of the game with Belhaven taking the 2-0 win on the afternoon.
