Avery Balch, Justin Toth, and Garrett George Qualify for NCAAs

THREE DIVERS QUALIFY FOR NCAA DIII CHAMPIONSHIPS

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Avery Balch, Justin Toth, and Garrett George have of the Birmingham-Southern men's diving team have qualified for the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships in Greensboro from March 20-23. The trio will look to compete for national titles in both the 1m and 3m dives.

At the conclusion of the regional meet in San Antonio, three Panthers punched their tickets to the big dance after outstanding performances in qualifiers. Junior Avery Balch was the first qualifier for BSC after completing the sweep of the 3m and 1m dives. The 2023 First Team All-American hopes to reclaim his status and push for a national championship.

Justin Toth also hopes to maintain his First Team All-American status after finishing runner-up in both the 1m and 3m dives at the regional meet. The 2024 SAA Diver of the Year will be looking to add to his trophy case with a national title.

Sophomore Garrett George will be competing in the national championships for the first time in his career after a fifth-place finish in the 3m dive and seventh-place finish in the 1m dive at regionals. George will be looking to become an All-American for the first time in his young career.

Sophomore Sam Tennell has been selected as an alternate for the championships in the diving events.
