BSC CONTINUES HISTORIC START WITH TRIUMPH OVER LAGRANGE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After a four-game road trip, the Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team defeated LaGrange at home to add on to their best start in program history.

How it happened
After a dominant win over Huntingdon last week, BSC got off to a great start with a goal inside the opening two minutes via a Graham Ferraro finish. The Panthers continued to press LaGrange and fired off five more shots until Joey Amatulli doubled their lead. The sophomore attacker went on to complete his hat trick to solidify the first quarter dominance in addition to Ferraro adding another and Josh Tamarkin contributing on the scoresheet.

With a 6-0 lead, BSC sat in full control heading into the second period. Kyle Winter and Nick Knisely kept the scoring spree going with two goals in the opening three minutes. LaGrange finally got one past Nathan Pepe with 12:01 left in the half after he recorded five saves. However, the home team then scored three consecutive goals to reach the ten-goal margin. LaGrange added in a goal before half to cut the deficit to single digits, but BSC went to the locker rooms with a deserved 11-2 lead at the break.

Leading goal-scorer Cameron Herd and Kyle Winter kick-started the second half with two goals and one goal respectively. LaGrange then answered with a goal immediately after the faceoff, but the Panthers never settled. The team went on a 5-1 run to close out the third quarter highlighted by Michael Fox's first collegiate goal on an excellent pass from Graham Ferraro

LaGrange scored the opening goal of the fourth period, but once again, BSC did not relax with a big lead. The team went on a 5-0 run to close out the game and cap off a truly dominant performance at Krulak Stadium. The 24-5 win advanced the Panthers to six straight wins to start coach Carson Sterling's tenure.
