Two second-half goals lift Panthers over Agnes Scott, 2-0

DECATUR, Ga.—Second-half goals from senior Alicia Plotky and sophomore Amanda Babbin helped the Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team shut out Agnes Scott College, 2-0, Friday afternoon.

The Panthers now stand at 6-3-1 on the season; it was their third shutout of the year.

Both teams were scoreless after the first half of play, and Plotky found the back of the net in the 51st minute - six minutes into the second half - off an assist from senior Linda Amaya.

Babbin scored six minutes later, assisted by sophomore Melissa Sweeney, to put the Panthers up 2-0.

Senior goalkeeper Amber Hernandez played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves.

BSC continues SCAC action this Sunday, traveling to face Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., at noon.
