Box Score ROME, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team lost in overtime Sunday afternoon to Berry College, 2-1, on the road in Rome, Ga.
BSC dropped to 7-5 overall and 2-2 in the Southern Athletic Association, and the Vikings moved to 8-2-1 overall and 3-0 in the SAA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first half, freshman Felicity Barnett put the Panthers on the board in the 68th minute.
- The lead lasted a little more than three minutes before Berry scored in the 71st minute to tie it up.
- Neither team would score in the final minutes of regulation to send the game to overtime; it marked BSC's first overtime game of the year.
- With 6:25 left in the first overtime period, Berry's Tessa Piety scored the game-winner to end the game and keep the Vikings perfect in conference play.
NOTABLE
- Berry out-shot BSC 18-4, 7-2 on-goal.
- Senior goalkeeper Katie Williams played the entire game and recorded five saves.
