Women's Tennis downs Millsaps 7-2 in conference opener

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team opened Southern Athletic Association play on Friday afternoon, defeating Millsaps 7-2 at the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex.

The Panthers moved to 4-2 on the season.

BSC won all three doubles matches, with senior Sara Cohen and sophomore Carlee Petro winning 8-5 at No. 1, freshmen Isabella Wisener and McKenzie Courtney winning 8-3 at No. 2, and junior Mary Evelyn Carroll and Mary Madison Taylor winning 8-1 in the third spot.

In singles play, Petro won in the top position, and Courtney, Carroll, and Taylor won at four, five, and six singles.

BSC travels to Orlando, Fla., for five matches before returning home to host Oglethorpe on Saturday, April 2, at 9 a.m.
