Box Score ATLANTA, Ga.—No. 5 Emory hosted the No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball team Wednesday afternoon and defeated the Panthers, 8-3, at Chappell Park in Atlanta, Ga.
The Panthers fell to 23-8, while the Eagles moved to 24-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emory put up half of its runs in the first inning, including two walked-in runs.
- A sac-fly in the second put the Eagles up 5-0, and two RBI doubles in the sixth were good for three more runs to put the home team up 8-0.
- With one out in the top of the ninth, sophomore Jack Rhodes doubled to right field to drive in two runs, cutting it to 8-2.
- After an Emory pitching change, sophomore Brayden Housel brought in another run, but it would be the Panthers' final score of the game.
NOTABLE
- Seven different Panthers had a single hit each, while Emory recorded nine total runs.
- Six different BSC pitchers saw action, with starter Easton Fuller (1-2) taking the loss after giving up three earned runs.
