Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College women's soccer team outlasted Belhaven University Saturday afternoon 2-1 in a double-overtime victory. Sophomore McKenna Boyd (Versailles, Ky./Woodford County HS) scored the game winner with 13 seconds left in the match off a corner from fellow sophomore Taylor Andrews (Watkinsville, Ga./Oconee County HS). The Panthers improved to 2-0 on the year with the win.
BSC scored first early in the second half. Sophomore Felicity Barnett (Birmingham, Ala./Hope Christian School) put a cross from Andrews in from 25 yards out in the 53rd minute. Belhaven (0-2) responded seven minutes later to tie the game at 1-1.
Senior Ansley Tomlin (Franklin, Tenn./Battle Ground Academy) earned her first win of the season spending over 109 minutes on the pitch. She finished with four saves.
The Panthers return home on Tuesday, Sept. 6 to take on Piedmont. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
