Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team won its fifth straight match Sunday when the Panthers defeated Southern Athletic Association rival Rhodes College 3-1. BSC (10-4, 6-1 SAA) now sits in second place in the league halfway through the conference season.
The Panthers offense hit .234 as a team. Rachel Lee (Montgomery, Ala./The Montgomery Academy) finished with a match-high 50 assists. Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) earned a match-high 19 kills and Emmy Kilgore (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) finished right behind her with 16 kills, respectively.
Defensively, Melaina Hissam (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) led the back line with a match-high 25 digs.
BSC returns home for a pair of conference matches next weekend. They take on Sewanee Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m., and then Centre College on Sunday, Oct. 8 at noon.
